In 1991, Lonnie Hewitt, Jr. was commended by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for his work with the resident advisory council. Key Personnel Lonnie Hewitt, Jr. has contributed his marketing expertise to Hewitt-Washington & Associates since its inception. His ideas and ingenuity have helped the firm secure major projects with such clients as the Housing Authority of New Orleans, the Regional Transit Authority and the New Orleans International Airport among others. Mr. Hewitt has years of experience in the comprehensive modernization of public housing developments. He has served as principal-in charge for the Desire Housing Development Master Plan, the Fischer Housing Development Comprehensive Modernization and more. His housing work has involved extensive coordination with resident advisory councils, community stakeholders and housing officials. James R. Washington, Jr. has assisted in the management of the fiscal operations of the firm Hewitt-Washington & Associates for 34 years. He has managed operating budgets exceeding $2 million. Additionally, he served as Principals-In-Charge of multi-million dollar projects such as the Phase III Expansion of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Mr. Washington is licensed to practice architecture in three states and he is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
